The Spectacular Song Off

*OOPS – link corrected for Jimi Hendrix

Many thanks for the nomination to one of my favorite bloggers, the britchy one at Bitchin’ in the Kitchen!

This challenge was created by TinTins and is meant to be fun!

The Rules:

• Choose a song that beats the nominators choice…doesn’t matter if its a cover, its about performance, lyrics and feeling the groove! Name it!

• Nominate 3 fellow bloggers (let them know you’ve challenged them).

• Add the previous song choice so that bloggers can see how it compares to what you’ve picked to beat it.

• Add a fourth genre to the mix and remove the one you didn’t use (the idea is that the nominee picks three out of the 4 genres to song-off with you) adding to the variety.

Genre 1:  Soul

Britchy’s choice:  Bill Withers – Lean On Me

My choice:  Otis Redding – Try A Little Tenderness

Genre 2:  Love Song

Britchy’s Choice:  Van Morrison – Have I Told You Lately

My choice:  Etta James – At Last

Genre 3:  Rhythm and Blues

Britchy’s choice:  Mary Coughlan – I Want To Be Seduced (one of my all-time favourites)

My choice:  Tito & Tarantula –  After Dark (Sexy! And who doesn’t love how sexy George Clooney and Salma Hayak dancing with the white snake were in From Dusk Til Dawn?)

Genre 4:  Classic Rock

Jimi Hendrix – Along The Watchtower

MY NOMINEES FOR THE CHALLENGE: (No pressure, just for fun)

Grey Goose, Dirty

Little Fears
